A Day
in the Life of a Donut
My name is Lask Albohe and this is my report. For
this report I have interviewed an Earth Donut that goes by the name Mskrs. The
times are in Earth-style time reckonings and are approximate. The text is the
original recorded text of the Earth Donut..
"A typical day in the life
of a Donut, or a day in the life of a typical Donut... whatever makes you happy,
Lask Albohe.. Either way, I am a typical Donut having experienced a typical day.
As a Donut, my sole purpose in life is to make people happy. I can do this very
well.. I have not fulfilled my purpose as of yet, for a Donut must give up its
existence to make people happy and fulfill its destiny knowing of the joy we
bring many.. On now to my typical day..
5:00am - 10:00am
This is the
morning meal time for most. As a Donut I am considered a favorite treat during
this time. Many enjoy my benefits as soon as they awaken. Some may eat a full
breakfast then enjoy me. I love to get someone off to a happy start for the day.
This Earth child
enjoys a Donut for breakfast.
10:00am - 11:30am
This is the
time of day many would enjoy me for a mid-morning break. It's just awhile before
lunch and the energy is dragging. You need a little pick-me-up, there is the
faithful Donut waiting to get you through your morning..
11:30am -
2:00pm
This is the
middle of the day meal. Most people do not eat Donuts for lunch. This could be a
little break time for some Donuts...Donuts that maybe had been taken to the
workplace for breakfast and not eaten. While everyone at the workplace is out to
lunch, the Donuts can relax until mid afternoon, when the people need another
pick-me-up.. There are some exceptions... some people go to restaurants that
serve fresh pastries including Donuts, at that time some could have Donuts for
dessert simply bcuz we are irresistable..
2:00pm - 5:00pm
This time of
day is the mid-afternoon break (much the same as the mid-morning break, only at
a different time.) This is another time when people may need a Donut to get them
through the rest of the afternoon. Until the evening, when they can enjoy Donuts
in their own homes at their own leisure.
5:00pm - 9:00pm
This is the
last meal of the day for most. (Many have a bedtime snack, but this is not heavy
enough to be considered a meal.) This is usually the longest relaxation period
for a Donut. Almost no one has Donuts for dinner. This is the time of day for a
Donut to just kick back, maybe visit with some other Donuts, maybe have a little
nap. The better to be fresh and ready when we are needed..
9:00pm -
12:00am
This is a big
time for Donuts (not as big as breakfast, though..) Many people will have Donuts
while watching TV or as a little snack before they go to bed. We are very
relaxing and help many to sleep better. We are considered purely recreational
and possess no nutritional value. However the pleasure we bring more than makes
up for that..
12:00am - 5:00am
During this
time, most people are sleeping and dreaming of Donuts.. However one will
occasionally wake and stumble around looking for a Donut. Sometimes they find
one and partake of Donuts and just go peacefully right back into their dream
filled slumber.
So, my friend Lask Albohe, that is a typical day in the
life of a Donut. A life that I am proud to lead. I live with the hopes that soon
I will bring someone great happiness also, as my freshness will be ebbing soon..
Please remember to enjoy Donuts every day to the fullest as only you can help us
meet our destiny.."
Thank you very much, Mskrs..

Our Frequent mention of Donuts is symbolic of their Importance in our Society.

The Blue Water Moon orbits The Blue Water Sun. This sun is quite different from the Fire Sun
of the Earth. It is made of cool Blue Water and constantly sends cool breezes to the people
of the Blue Water Moon..
Our nearest celestial neighbor is The Green Grass Moon. Though much smaller,
the Green Grass Moon is very important to the Blue Water Moon. One of the many
different types of grass grown here is Donutgrass, which is harvested and refined to make the Lovely Fragrant Donuts we crave. Pictured here is a remote patrol droid checking the progress of the recent growing season..
The third member of our celestial Family is The Hot Springs Moon..
Internal geophysical pressures there cause the water to be very pleasingly warm and comforting..
We love to go to the Hot Springs Moon to relax after a hard day harvesting the Donutgrass..

Lask
Albohe is a very well-known and well-respected Exolinguist on The Blue Water
Moon. He is always sent to new planets during the first wave to learn all the
local languages. It is very difficult to translate our beautiful language
LUNARIA.. This is the closest approximation that can be made to
any kind of Earth language to show our human friends what Lunaria looks like. It
is impossible for humans to pronounce..
Here is Lask's
report on Earth languages.
"My name is Lask Albohe and this is my report..The people of Earth speak hundreds of different languages.. The one I am
most familiar with is called American English and is spoken in the United States
of America..Stranger still is the fact that within any certain language area,
there are various dialects used of the same language, people in the northern
sections of the country may speak differently than people in southern regions
while using the same language.. This makes the language very confusing and hard
to understand for outsiders, even those with highly advanced brains.. Sometimes
the same word is pronounced in multiple ways and has multiple meanings.. Here is
a very short list of that phenomenon..
WHAT DID YOU SAY?
- Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present
the present.
- The serviceman decided to desert the dessert in the desert.
- He could lead if he would get the lead out.
- I did not object to the object.
- She was not close enough to the door to close it.
- The bandage was wound around the wound.
- The dove dove into the bushes.
- The buck does funny things when does are present.
- Do nut eat my last Donut!!
Sometimes the definitions and origins of the words do not make any sense..
Here is a short list of my findings in this area..
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND
- There is no egg in eggplant. I will
bring samples on my next visit.
- There is no ham in hamburger. (A bovine by-product.)
- Boxing rings are square.
- People drive cars on a parkway, and park same cars on a driveway.
- Cars are shipped by trucks, and trucks are cargo on ships.
- Fingers do not fing, grocers do not groce, hammers do not ham. (There is
that word "ham" again. Earthlings seem obsessed by this porcine by-product.)
Sometimes Earth people use different words to mean the same thing. If I use
The Blue Water Moon as an example, our homeworld can also be called The Azure Aqua-Luna
or The Cerulean Seawater Crescent.
These are only a small number of examples of the complexity of the
American English language.. "
